Having discovered my personality type – ENFJ I began to explore the roles of personalities and how it could help me to connect and understand my clients. My research led me to the psychologist, Carl Gustav Jung – he used the concept of archetype in his theory of the human psyche. WHAT IS AN ARCHETYPE?

The term “archetype” has its origins in ancient Greek. The root words are archein, which means “original or old”; and typos, which means “pattern, model or type”. The combined meaning is an “original pattern” of which all other similar persons, objects, or concepts are derived, copied, modelled, or emulated.

Although there are many different archetypes, Jung defined twelve primary types that symbolise basic human motivations. Each type has its own set of values, meanings and personality traits.

Most, if not all, people have several archetypes at play in their personality; however, one archetype tends to dominate the personality in general. It can be helpful to know which archetypes are at play in oneself gaining personal insight into behaviours and motivations.

I wish I had a great story as to how I found the test I took but I really don’t remember, perhaps it was the universe guiding me. The test ‘The Primary Archetype Test’ has been crafted by the wonderfully talented and inspirational lady – Cerries Mooney.

THE PRIMARY ARCHETYPE TEST

The Primary Archetype test consists of 13 questions, each one carefully crafted using Cerries’s research and development of archetypal theory. The point of this test is to find out which archetype is most closely aligned with your soul…so you can then structure, build and run your business in the most fulfilling way.

Plus this test has been taken over 15,000 times, so it can’t be wrong.
After answering the 13 questions I was guided to a  page which includes a PDF Guide. The guide gave me an overview of my Primary Archetype – including my strengths, audience and ideas for bringing my archetypal brand to life.

Reading the Alchemist’s traits really did resonate with me, kind of like reading your horoscope.  I just had to know more about my archetypal blend, luckily Cerries had just the course: the Archetypal Business Initiation Kit. As soon as I had purchased it I completed the secondary archetype test. My test result was CREATOR, my initial reaction was that’s spot on. Upon reading the strengths, audience and ideas it gave me a far greater understanding of what a creator actually is and the role it plays in my business and how it sets me apart from other businesses.

I honestly don’t think I’d be writing this post, let alone have a ‘live’ website had it not been for the clarity that came from finding Cerries’s Archetypal tests. Her amazing assistant Erin who we fondly referred to as “chief joyologist” is on hand to support everyone of us in  the amazing community that is – The Alchemy hangout. The Alchemy Hangout has and continues to be a conduit of like minded souls and is without doubt one of the nicest groups on Facebook.
