I had connected with Adele in a Facebook group for an upcoming event – Blogtacular 2016, we were both staying at the same hotel so thought it would be good to connect before the event and we have been friends ever since.
Adele had mentioned a couple of times that she was thinking of rebranding, I’m certainly not the pushy type of designer that makes you sign up on the spot. I encouraged Adele to work on the who, what, and why, her vision, her consumer and her brand.
When Adele got in touch to to schedule a date to start the project I was so excited for her and knowing her as I do, I knew it would be colourful.
Adele felt the time was right to invest in both her brand and her blog.

I had spent numerous hours researching and designing, a logotype emerged that captured Adele’s brand attributes. I designed it so both letters N & D would interlink link like the threading of a needle. N represents thread and D represents eye of a needle.
Nest is playful, adventurous as it expands into the letter N representing travel and the threading of a needle. Turquoise is the perfect colour to uphold the brand attributes of inspirational, creative, clarity, fresh ideas
Dressed is an outlined font allowing for transparency, simple yet functional, nothing too fussy. Pink just had to be the colour as it represented ‘dressed’ in the logo as well as Adele’s passion for fashion.
The bright colour palette and pattern bring the brand to life.
The colours were chosen by the power they have to make us feel, using Adele’s key brand attributes the following colour palette was chosen; –
- Turquoise for inspirational, creative, efficient
- Pink for compassionate, intimate, nurturing
- Yellow for extrovert, friendly, happy
- Orange for secure, comfort, positive
With such a bright and clear palette of colours it was important to carry the key attributes of the brand into the pattern. I did this by creating icons to represent each of the four main categories, interiors, fashion, travel and wellbeing each and by creating an abstract pattern of coloured paint strokes, splashed and marks which represent travel, inspiration and adventure.
Photography, graphic elements and patterns are a unique opportunity to channel a brand’s essence into something that will take the identity to the next level. Through this application, you can envision how the colour, type, photography and logo all come together as a cohesive brand. It was a joy to work with an established blogger who had the content to design specific category design elements around.
Overall, the brand identity reflects a creative, and colourful lifestyle, with a feeling of adventure and a want to explore.
