Kind Words Friday
A unique initiative designed to weave threads of kindness, gratitude, and celebration into our professional and personal lives. Each Friday, reflect on the week that has passed, focusing on the positive, uplifting moments that have marked our journey. This isn’t just another task to check off; it's a moment to pause, appreciate, and acknowledge the kindness we've experienced, shared, and observed.
At its core, "Kind Words Friday" champions the belief that kindness is a powerful force capable of transforming lives and relationships. It’s about taking a moment to recognise those who have supported us, the help we’ve extended to others and the wins—big or small—that we’ve achieved throughout the week. This initiative is more than just a space for sharing; it's a community commitment to elevating our spirits and strengthening our connections through the simple yet profound act of expressing kind words.
Whether it's a heartfelt thank you, a note of appreciation, or a celebration of someone’s success, "Kind Words Friday" is a testament to the impact of positive words and actions. It serves as a reminder that in the hustle and bustle of daily life, taking the time to acknowledge and express gratitude can foster a culture of support and encouragement that resonates far beyond our immediate circles.
"Kind Words Friday" is not just an event; it’s a movement towards a more supportive, encouraging, and connected community.

Get Your Subscribers to Rave About You
It's time to cut through the noise and get real about growing your Substack. You've poured your heart and soul into creating killer content, but are you leveraging the power of social proof to skyrocket your success? Listen up, because I'm about to drop some truth bombs.
First off, when you recommend other Substacks to your readers, you're not just being a good samaritan – you're opening the door to a game-changing opportunity. These recommendations are like golden tickets to building your own credibility. When you endorse another Substack, reach out and ask them to return the favor by displaying your recommendation on their welcome page.
Now, I know what you might be thinking:
"But Emma, I don't have any recommendations!"
Well, it's time to stop making excuses and start making moves. Take a deep dive into your subscriber list and identify your most engaged fans. These are the people who always open your emails, leave comments, and share your content like it's their job.
Once you've found your loyal supporters, it's time to shoot your shot. Reach out with a personal message and ask them to write a testimonial or review about why they love your Substack. Make it easy for them by providing a simple template or prompt. And when they deliver, showcase those glowing words of praise like they're a badge of honor.
Remember, social proof is the secret sauce to building trust and authority in your niche. When potential subscribers see that others are raving about your content, they'll be more likely to hit that subscribe button faster than you can say "email list."
So, here's your action plan:
Identify your 10 most engaged subscribers.
Reach out and ask them to recommend your Substack on their welcome page.
Ask them to include a reason, this is important - it’s validation of why people should subscribe.
Edit recommendation “blurbs” on welcome page, these control which blurbs appear on your welcome page.
Proudly display those endorsements on your Substack and watch your credibility soar.
Share the kind words in a Note.
Repeat every quarter.
Caution: This isn’t about spamming people! Don’t cold DM someone to recommend you if they have never read a word you’ve written.
It's time to stop playing small and start harnessing the power of social proof. Your content deserves to be celebrated, so go out there and get those recommendations. Your future subscribers (and your bank account) will thank you.
Now, go make it happen!
