You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.
Emma Brooks Design - Terms of Service
Chatterbox - Terms of Service
Effective Date: 19 July 2026
These Terms of Service (”Terms”) govern your subscription to and use of Chatterbox, my publication on Substack (the “Publication”). By subscribing to, reading, or interacting with Chatterbox, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t subscribe to or use Chatterbox.
These Terms cover the Chatterbox subscription only. My wider products and services (design and strategy work, Custom GPTs, consultations, and other digital products) are covered by my main Terms of Service at emmabrooksdesign.com. Where Chatterbox is concerned, this is the one to read, and the two are written to be consistent with each other.
1. Who I Am
Emma Brooks, trading as Emma Brooks Design, is a sole trader operating a relationship-first business strategy practice.
Email: hello@emmabrooksdesign.com
Website: emmabrooksdesign.com
2. What Chatterbox Is
Chatterbox is a Substack publication offering free and premium (paid) content, including newsletters, articles, and subscriber-only posts. Paid subscriptions are available on Individual (monthly or annual), Group, and Gift plans, at the prices shown at the point of purchase (see Section 5).
Chatterbox is a publication, not a coaching programme, consultancy, or ongoing advisory relationship. Content is provided for general information and interest only.
3. Substack as the Platform
Chatterbox is hosted on Substack, a US-based publishing platform provided by Substack Inc. (”Substack”). When you subscribe, you enter into two relationships at once:
With me, as the publisher responsible for the content and communications described in these Terms.
With Substack, which runs the platform (hosting, email delivery, payments, comments, and account management).
Your use of Substack is also subject to Substack’s own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. I don’t control how Substack operates its platform, and these Terms don’t override Substack’s terms, they explain my side of things as the publisher of Chatterbox.
4. Eligibility and Your Account
You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe to Chatterbox.
To access certain content you’ll need a Substack account, created and managed through Substack.
You’re responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for all activity that happens under your account.
5. Subscriptions, Payment and Renewals
Chatterbox is offered on a Free tier and on paid Individual, Group, and Gift plans.
Free: A curated selection of articles on the back office, client relationships, and brand strategy. This does not include the full archive or every new article as it’s published.
Monthly (Individual): £12 per month. Includes the full archive and all new articles as they’re published.
Annual (Individual): £60 per year (equivalent to £5 per month). Includes the same access as Monthly, at a reduced annual rate.
Group: £60 per person per year, for the number of people you select at checkout, billed as a single annual payment for the total. Each person on a Group plan gets the same access as an Individual Annual subscriber.
Gift: A subscription bought as a gift for one month (£12) or one year (£60), delivered to a recipient’s email address. Gifts can include an optional personal message, be sent anonymously, and be scheduled for future delivery. Once delivered and activated, the gift subscription is subject to these Terms as they apply to the recipient.
Billing: All plans are administered and billed through Substack and its payment processor, Stripe. I do not see or store your card details. Paid plans are billed in advance.
Renewals: Monthly, Annual, and Group subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.
Changes to plans: I may change the plans on offer, their pricing, or what’s included at each tier at any time. Where changes are material, I’ll give notice before they take effect, such as by email or a notice on Chatterbox.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancelling: You can cancel a Monthly, Annual, or Group subscription at any time through your Substack account settings. After cancelling, you’ll keep access to paid content until the end of your current billing period.
Refunds: Unless otherwise required by law, fees paid for Monthly, Annual, Group, and Gift plans are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.
7. Intellectual Property and Use of Content
All Chatterbox content, including text, images, and other materials is the property of Emma Brooks Design and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Your subscription grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and read Chatterbox content for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may share links to public posts. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, sell, or otherwise exploit paid or subscriber-only content without my prior written permission.
Please don’t remove any copyright or ownership notices, or share your subscriber access with people who haven’t subscribed.

When interacting with Chatterbox (for example, commenting or replying), you agree not to:
Use Chatterbox for any unlawful purpose;
Post abusive, defamatory, or infringing content;
Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the Publication or Substack’s systems.
I may remove comments or restrict access where these Terms are breached.

10. Disclaimer
Chatterbox is provided “as is” and “as available.” While I put care into what I publish, content is for general information only and is not professional, legal, financial, or business advice tailored to your situation.
