INTRODUCTION
Made in 1972
In an era of Corona pop, making mud pies, playing with Sindy dolls and singing along to Blondie at the top of my voice in the back of my Dad’s Vauxhall Victor!
My career started in 1989 as a Saturday checkout girl for Iceland Frozen Foods. Over 16 years I climbed my career ladder from the checkout to regional systems manager to IT management. When I reflect on my days in store it taught me the core skills of entrepreneurship which are the core of everything I do today.
A Brummie1 born and bred. At the turn of the century I moved to Bristol where I live today with the guy who stole my heart, Martin along with our feline furbaby Stevie.(sadly we lost Sprout our furbaby of 15 years in February 2024).
Self taught in brand, graphic and web design and to think it began with an invitation to join Pinterest in 2012.
CHAPTER ONE:
A Turning Point
In 2008, my world was turned upside down by the sudden loss of my father. The emotional turmoil I had bottled up for years shattered into a thousand pieces, leaving me feeling broken and utterly drained. Seeking solace, I underwent counselling for grief and made life-altering decisions that transformed me from the person I once was into who I am today. I chose life on my terms, shedding the weight of others' expectations.
As I navigated through this period of loss—mourning my father, my career, and my sense of self—I was engulfed by anxiety and vulnerability. It took me two years of conscious effort to redefine my identity, during which I discovered my true purpose and a renewed zest for life. Embracing holistic practices, I found peace in meditation, crystals, flower essences, and aromatherapy. This journey rekindled my creative spirit, leading me to explore various artistic mediums until I fell in love with graphic design. This newfound passion and early lessons in the power of branding fuelled my aspiration for a more straightforward, more sustainable way of living.
CHAPTER TWO:
Discovering My Niche
The saying goes that life begins at 40, and for me, this couldn't have been more accurate. It marked the start of a new chapter where I launched my business. Initially, I cast a wide net, offering graphic, brand, and web design services to anyone who needed them, committed to learning anything I didn't already know. This drive soon had me working tirelessly, up to 14 hours a day, seven days a week, feeling guilty whenever I took a break.
Over time, I refined my offerings, finally honing in on my niche: uncovering your superpower. As an activator, I thrive on kick-starting action and fostering change.
I was frustrated with clients who struggled to articulate their purpose or vision, often resulting in extended deadlines and misdirected efforts. This led to an epiphany: by helping solo entrepreneurs and creators identify their superpowers, values, and purpose, they could more effectively communicate not just with designers but with their ideal audience.
CHAPTER THREE
Defining Your Brand’s Mission
My journey, marked by significant loss and self-discovery, was the catalyst for my brand's mission: to support solo entrepreneurs in navigating their path to success. Having experienced the transformative power of redefining my purpose and embracing what brings me joy, I am uniquely positioned to help others see beyond their immediate challenges.
My approach is rooted in a broader vision and a pathway to success that champions simplicity and sustainability. It's about transforming vision into reality, ensuring that every solo entrepreneur I work with is not merely surviving but thriving.

Starting my business was fraught with challenges, from ideation to execution. Without a mentor to guide me, I navigated through trial and error, learning valuable lessons along the way. These experiences have not only shaped my resilience and innovative spirit but also equipped me with insights that I now share with my clients. This journey has taught me the importance of perseverance, strategic thinking, and the value of a supportive community in overcoming obstacles.
